Summer

We have a packed house for readers this issue.

And a lot of fun it will be.

A BIT OF BREAKING NEWS
Muse Online Conference Contest

In conjunction with the folks at the Muse Online Writer's Conference,
Mysterical-E Is Sponsoring a Short Story Contest
Details at: Muse Online Conference Contest

And there's lots of other news to report:

DERRINGER SUCCESS

We're very proud of our own Barry Ergang who recently won a Derringer Award for his excellent story "Vigilante" which appeared in the Summer 2006 issue of Mysterical-E -- we are honored to have published that story.

STAFF NEWS

Three of our long-time editors have had to take a back seat for a while.

Virginia LoMonaco has had to leave her duties altogether because of health issues. I will miss her keen judgement and insightful editing skills.

Julie Obermiller remains on leave due to serious health problems. I know I'm not the only one who misses her wonderful comumn, great book reviews, interviews, and more. She is a powerhouse. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. We look forward to her return.

Tim Matson has also gone on leave for a while. Tim did a lot of behind-the-scenes work as well as doing the blurbs for stories, doing some interviewing, and more. We stay in touch and I look forward to his return as well.

NEW STAFF

Barry Ergang, who took a leave of absence a while back, has returned to service as First Senior Editor. He is coordinating the distribution of stories to our editorial staff and keeping track of what is happening with said stories. Barry also does some of the editing himself. He is a master of organization and his editing skills are second to none. He is an astute observer, very knowledgeable in several fields, and knows what he's doing. I'm grateful that he's back on board.

The newest members of our staff are: Pam Skochinski, Shawn O'Shea, Charles Mossop, Larry Marshall, and Thomas Fortenberry. You can read about them on the Staff Page. They are all wonderfully talented, multifaceted, and energetic.

YOU CAN JOIN THE CREW

We are always open to new editors and to new voices in our list of columns. If you have an idea for a column, would like to do reviews or interviews, or would like to work for Mysterical-E in some capacity, let me know. Send an e-mail and we'll discuss it all.

THIS ISSUE

In this issue we have the first in what is going to be a continuing series. Sweeper features a likeable hero who tries to do his part. I'm certain you'll enjoy his adventures. We've had a serial story in past issues (and would like more) but this is the first series for Mysterical-E and we're pleased about it. In fact we'll have more series news in our Fall Issue -- stay tuned.

There are plenty of other stories in this Summer Issue and, of course, absolutely fabulous columns -- filled with information and great reading.

Starting with this issue we move to a new production schedule and will be out on the 20th of the quarterly months.

In future issues, I hope to have some exciting news. But, I'll let that be the teaser.

For now, I'll just start enjoying the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer.

And don't forget...
